Christian Bible Lesson Overview

You must demonstrate your commitment to God during the most challenging times if you wish to demonstrate a true love for others and, most importantly, for God.  That means you demonstrate love toward everyone else, even your enemies.  That does not mean you allow people to take advantage of you, but it does mean that you do not wish anyone harm, and you always hope they will commit to Christianity.  The word “Love” in this context refers to the Greek word for love which means to love the community as opposed the romantic love.

It is easy to demonstrate affection for those who support you.  To communicate a genuine feeling of goodwill to someone who has abused you is extremely challenging and requires a strong commitment to Christian Lessons. 

Christian Bible Lesson for Today

I found the Christian Lesson of loving your enemies to be a strong benefit when I analyzed situations after time has passed.  This lesson became important to me about twenty years ago.  Before that, I treated people I considered enemies very badly.  The result of returning insulting responses caused me significant stress, time spent on activities that did not improve my situation, and I did not feel good about myself.  I can remember situations in my personal life, in my business experience, and with the Church where I responded to someone in a negative manner and caused myself as much hurt as I inflicted on the other person.  Once I reacted negatively to someone, I was unable to benefit from the relationship in any way. 

On the other hand, after I accepted this Christian Lesson of loving my enemies, every experience was positive for me.  By responding positively to a negative communication, it always surprised the other person or people and softened their next response.  I found that for my response to be accepted as an uplifting communication, I had to wish goodwill to the other person or people.  I found the other people were almost always caught by surprise by my honest affection for them.  I did not develop a close relationship with everyone who threatened me in some way, but I did always let everyone know I cared about them.

It is important to have genuine community type love for everyone, even those you consider your enemies.  Your life will improve by treating everyone with respect, even those who oppose you in some way.
