Bible Verse

“’Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.’”  Matthew 22:36-38

Christian Bible Lesson Overview

As long as you make God number one in your life, you can adjust everything else.   Before committing to priorities other than God, be sure you pay respect to God first.  Putting God first means that when you have challenges or major decisions to make, you request God’s guidance, and you are consistent with the teachings of Jesus.

Christian Bible Lesson for Today

When working in my business, I frequently encounter situations with customers or resellers that result in stress.  In the past, I frequently restricted my perspective to that of the benefit to the business, which is not following Christian Lessons. When I make business number one, my entire focus is demanding what is good for the business, not what is best for the customer or anyone else.

Making sure God is number one does not mean that I should give the customer everything they want.  It means that I will find a solution that works for all parties.  It is important always to remember that the world belongs to God and I should do everything I can to support God’s Plan by helping other people.  If my business follows practices that do not follow God’s Plan, I must change those practices.

Of course, making sure God is Number One applies to family life and time spent with friends or the community.  Always put God ahead of your desires.

Christian Bible Lesson Summary

Making God Number One means much more than making sure you pray to God at the beginning of the day. It means that you consider God for the entire day.  If you do daily planning in the evening for the next day, review the activities and consider God as Number one in your plan.  When you feel stress or major challenges, make sure you look to God for guidance.  Make God part of everything you do.

  1. Proverbs 3:5-8
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear theLord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”
